tarot reading

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : What is a good amount of money to take to Glastonbury Festival 2013?

So I need a rough amount of money I should take for gifts and things since I will be 14 (I will be going with my parents) I will have no need for alcohol and other substances of the like.
I also want to know how I can make this money, so if anyone can help on that.
Also if there will be anything like tarot card readings there, does anyone know? I would love to have a tarot reading.

Answer by AJ
You’ll need about 200 pounds for a good time. They’ll have Tarrot Reading there as well, You can make the money by washing cars or helping out at home for some extra pocket change.

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : How to experience more with Tarot Cards since I’m a beginner?

I am not very experienced with each Tarot card since I have only read a Tarot Reading book for beginners. That’s why I feel a bit confused reading for anyone else.
How should I practice reading to understand a card’s meaning deeper for each situation? How did you start it?
Thanks everyone.
I’m 20 and very serious about exploring the mystic world, I don’t want to take Tarot reading as a job, I would only do the reading if someone really needs it and I would never charge so to collect their info and to pretend to understand the cards is not my reference. thanx LD anyways.

Answer by lithiumdeuteride
The art of Tarot reading involves the skill known as “cold-reading”. It involves fishing for information by paying close attention to everything the victim says, and asking vague questions to try to get the victim to reveal facts about their life. This can be done before or during the Tarot reading.

Once enough information is known, the Tarot practitioner simply invents meanings for each card that comes up, and tailors the meanings to the information they’ve gained from the victim. This is why you will see Tarot practitioners flipping over cards like Death and explaining that it does not mean the victim is going to die, but instead has more than one meaning. If you’re vague enough about what the cards are ‘predicting’, you can never be wrong.

In short, the victim gets what they wanted to hear, and the Tarot practitioner gets their money. It’s a simple con job.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that’s what Tarot cards are used for. You cannot tell the future with pieces of cardboard with ink on them. You can, however, trick people out of their money.

lithiumdeuteride (LD)’s answer has some merit, but may not be particularly helpful for a beginner like yourself.

Tarot cards are one of many non-chemical methods of altering the way we perceive reality and possibility. If a person needs to break free of limited perceptions and explore a greater range of internal and external options, these techniques can be useful.

Focusing on the ‘textbook’ meanings of cards, though (as LD suggests), is probably not as effective as attuning yourself to your own intuition around the images. A very skilled reader of my acquaintance will introduce a card by simply describing the image and their own personal interpretation of it, implicitly inviting the subject to explore its meaning for themselves.

You might try doing your own self-readings, as a way of ‘getting to know’ the cards (and your own feelings about them), then expand the scenario to include someone else almost as a ‘co-reader’. The reading is an intimate act and requires great sensitivity, if not extra-sensory perception, so it will stretch your abilities.

Many (if not most) people seeking tarot readings are not as naive as LD assumes, and they do not attribute mystical powers to the cards. The reader provides an opportunity to see the world through new eyes, emphasizing intuition and creativity. The process allows us to remove our hyper-rational blinders and see things we may be in the habit of avoiding.

since you’re a beginner, i have here questions for you.. why do you want to?will you use it just for fun or for serious stuffs?how old are you?are you sure your mom allows you to manage such cards?have you ever had a dream that you are sitting on a corner with a woman in your front, asking what you have seen in the cards in her situation?since when did you have interest?.. if you have positive answes to my question, well then, i recommend you to an expert.. remember `tarot cards is not a joke, beginner..

this is just an intro for your consciousness.. take note, you must positively answer these questions before undergoing
even small practices.. i hope this advice would help.. i won’t answer your questions to make sure..

this was the advice I got when I started, it worked for me.

2 topics,

1:
I would make sure to get the energy of the cards,
practice feeling for a card and pulling it out of the deck without looking.

practice by asking a question that can be answered in one card,
then split the deck,
then hold each half in each hand,
feel what hand has the answer,
keep the answer hand cards, set the others down,
split the deck again, and repeat till you have only one card left.
this method helped me feel the energy from the cards, so that I would know the cards that matched the person I was reading.

2:
really get to know the meanings of the cards,
there are many interpretations in different decks,
I researched each of the major arcana separately.

the minor arcana,
once you understand the system, its easy,
the minor arcana is set up as a blending of 2 things,
the number, and the suit.
so, each number has a meaning, and it is the same for all of that number across all the suits.
each suit has a meaning that is common to all the cards in that suit.

the problem is that someone will read a description and it will be correct, but there may be more to the cards that might be missed.

my daughter has had her deck a little over a year she just uses them she reads herself a lot and she has become quite good at reading her friends but she never charges anyone she does it for fun practice study and learn keep at it and good luck

Answer by wushuboy001
Dont bother to understand the cards, they wont tell you anything useful or give you any useful advice.
The real book you should be reading is the book on cold reading. Cold reading is how you read the person not the cards and it is the foundation for professional fortune tellers and mediums. The reason they use this technique is because they cant tell the future, nor talk to the dead.

The truth is, devination through demonic influence is forbidden in the bible, and this includes tarot cards. So, keep in mind that reading tarot cards is a rebellion against God and if you are judged by the standards of the Bible you will not stand up so well.

Answer by Sarah W
lithiumdeuteride is right to some degree, there ARE alot of Fortune tellers out there that trick you into revieling information about yourself, for example asking you only to reply to their questions with a yes or no answer. This you be suprised HOW MUCH information they can gather from it.

HOWEVER there ARE those who do not dig for information and are 100% truthful with you.

I first got into Tarot Reading when I was 24, (im 29 now). I wasn’t a natrual born tarot reader yet it had always interested me and i had a very good teacher. There are alsorts of different tarot cards, some are really difficult to understand and others are not. I was adviced to start with an easier pack. Tarot cards come in all forms from,

1. The traditional tarot deck consists of two sets of cards, one having 22 pictures (the major arcana), such as the Fool, the Devil, Temperance, the Hermit, the Sun, the Lovers, the Hanged Man, and Death.
2. The other set (the minor arcana) has 56 cards with kings (or lords), queens (or ladies), knights, and knaves (pages or servants) of sticks (or wands, cudgels or batons) , swords, cups and coins.
to:Many different cards packs of
Angel Tarot
Faery Wicca Tarot
Feral Tarot etc etc etc theres SO MANY.

I started off by laying all my cards out and taking time to pick each one up and study the picture and reading its meaning. Ofcourse all cards can have different meanings aswel if presented with another card. The cards i use are fortune cards and i find these very simple and easy to use without confusion. It can take time and lots of practice till you know all the cards on their own and their different meanings with other cards. Even now occassionally i need to refere back to my book when i get two cards together which dont normally appear.
Also as someone else said, feeling the energy and connecting to your cards is vital in understanding them better. Have you found the ONE card yet that represents you. You may find that a certain card in your OWN readings will come up either everytime, no matter how you choose them or how you shuffle them. When you have identified which card constantly appears in your own readings, this card is your personal card, and it represents you as a person. Even if you lay all your cards face down on a table and concentrate and then choose just one card its more than likely that once you HAVE reached this connection that you will pick YOUR one card. Its very strange and a little freaky atfirst when you first do this but its certainly nothing to fear.
Death cards however they are presented do not always mean death as we see death. They usually mean death of a situation or loss of something. This is where you need to learn each card properly.
I would suggest you practice on family members and close friends. You can practice on yourself but id suggest only doing your own readings once or twice a month, otherwise you can fall very dependant on them telling you what to do. You also will find that if you read your own cards too often that rather than the cards working with you and opening your eyes to the possibilty of things, instead you will actually be answering your own questions and LOOKING for certain answers. Does that make sense?
Everyone reads tarot differently, when i read for someone in person i always prefere THEM to shuffle the pack themselves and for them to pick out the cards. (always face down ofcourse). This way i find you will 99.9% of the time get a true reading for them.
Some people write on their cards, more so beginners, i did when i first started just to help me learn them more without having to refere to the guide book all the time. For example on the very first pack i ever brought, I had a card with the picture of a road on it. I wrote on it, change, travel, new directions. This helped me to realise everytime i drew this card what it represented and now after 5 years (nearly 6) i need nolonger to write on my cards.

Every reader needs to be open to allowing information to come through to them. Do not be afraid of what you see – you may see some shadows, but we all have them. They are a part of every reading that has ever been done.
When you first begin to read the cards, go through a reading intuitively, speaking what comes through to you from the images in the cards. Then, if you wish, go back and check the “traditional” meaning of the cards. Know that as you do more and more readings, you will develop your own sense of what a card means, and where it is taking you. Keeping a journal of your readings will allow you to see your progress on a very real level, as well as allowing you to see how specific issues develop in your life.

Contrary to the eloquent answers and confident claims of a couple of other people here, Tarot cards ARE a joke. They do nothing. They reveal nothing. All you have to do is pay attention to the vague, esoteric, purple prose of the believers to see that it is just nonsense.
If you are sincere, you will chuck the cards and find something real to get interested in. Those who profess this nonsense are either seriously deluded, possibly by the efforts of a good con artist or they are the con artists themselves. All that mystical stuff has a certain appeal, if true, but it isn’t true. You can’t tell anything from reading tarot cards, no matter how experienced you are. Those who claim to be experts don’t know any more than you do. They are just more experienced at the BS.

Yes, eclectic, people are every bit as gullible and naive as lithiumdeuteride implies. All they have to do is *want* to believe in something because it excites them or holds some promise, and they will cheerfully skip along the primrose path, conning themselves the whole way. Where does it end? Well, there are 900 dead people in Jonestown. That’s one place.

Sarah, whatever happened to our reading? I haven’t heard back from you since I pointed out that the first thing you had to do was ask me a question about what I was thinking. You said you could tell me something important in my life if I just gave you a series of numbers and you used those to pull certain cards. When are we going to continue that?

Answer by belladonnasmoon
There are so many different decks out there on tarot cards, and they all deal with different subjects.I myself have over eighteen. This is because everyone has different beliefs an diffrent backgrounds. You should”nt start doing readings unless you know the rules, they can have strange reactions on people. There Isa book called” The Tarot Handbook,” by Hajo Banzhaf. Its wonderful and even teaches you the positions of the cards an more.Another wonderful book that I recommend is “The Ultimate Book of Shadows, for the New Generation” Solitary Witch.by Silver Raven Wolf”. this book has a tremendous amount of information on tarot card learning and edicut for readings. It truly has alot of great stuff in it,and no your don’t have to be a witch to read it! shes simply informative an will answer alot of your questions.and remember you can an will effect the lives of the people you do readings on……and never be ashamed or feel unprofessional for checking your references during readings…some times its better to be sure than chance it. good luck! …….blessed be!

I was playing with Tarot cards once, and I got a Royal Straight Flush, and all of my dinner guests dropped dead.

I buried them in the backyard. I knew the police would never believe I got a Royal Straight Flush.

There are no genuine psychics and tarot card reading is a complete fraud. No one has any ability to predict your future. For details on a longstanding offer of a million dollars for a demonstration of any supernatural ability, check out www.jref.com

Hi,

I feel that there are many factors involved here that would prevent this relationship from working. I am not saying that it can’t but there are several circumstances that would have to change. I see one of you already being involved with someone else. Take care of that first and foremost. I also see some kind of age difference between the two of you. This is no major problem, but can cause problems down the road if not taken into consideration. To make a long story short, if it doesn’t feel right to you, which I don’t think it does, then maybe look at other options. I hope this helps.

Tarot Card Reading Secrets REVEALED! Learn the meanings fast from the Thoth Deck and Rider Waite!

Written by ClairvoyantConni

Since the age of 2 I have had encounters and a personal relationship with loved ones crossed. In my opinion there are no better friends you can have. They are honest, without the capacity to hold ego or materialistic views and always give you accurate information to help you through whatever you are going through. They have the ability to see the past, present and future without judgement. Their accuracy is uncanny.

Having the gift of sight, hearing, sensing, smelling and tasting as well as empathy and the gift of communicating with spirit, gives me the ability to accurately read you without judgement.

Spirit has entrusted me with these gifts to help you in all areas of your life. It has been an exciting journey. This gift is generational and my grandmother and father both had the gift as well as my children.

I have assisted over 15,598 people online in the last 9 years alone. I have thousands of other clients as well. This is what I dedicate my life to as I know it is my life calling.
