meaning of tarot cards

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : What happens when the death tarot card is reversed?

Does it mean the ending has been stopped from happening?

Answer by Clay
I think it means a rebirth of sorts. If the one way is life to death, the reverse would be death to life.

Sounds like a bad start to a zombie movie. XD

Answer by Casu.
It means someone is being born when someone else has passed away.

Answer by Jackie
I’m no expert, but I think it means the transformation taking place may be delayed, or the person in question (could be the querent, or someone/thing in their life) is resisting change. They need to learn to accept whatever is changing in their life.

Answer by KdS
There are a few different ways of reading reversals. They’re generally agreed to be some kind of corruption of the upside’s message — and the Death card is a controversial one even for that.

Method A is that reversals demonstrate the more negative qualities of whatever the regular interpretation would suggest (for example, a card usually indicating ‘faithfulness’ might become ‘obsession’ reversed.)

Method B is to imagine the scene on the card turned upside down, the setting subject to gravity, and interpret what that would mean for the card. (Example, cards featuring people toasting cups become people toasting with empty cups, since the contents of any cup would be drained were the scene overturned.)

Method C is to figure a reversal is a blockage of the card’s usual judgment.

Method D is to go a step beyond, and interpret it as a full-on opposite of the card’s usual judgment.

You can hopefully use this to decide on which is right for your card.

Hello Obscure

It would depend on the layout, its position & the question asked as well as the reader’s method of reading.

But as an individual card Death reversed shows acceptance of the forced change brought about by its upright energy.

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : How can you read tarot cards?

i have a deck of tarot cards and i don’t know how to read them. do you know any websites to teach me how?

Answer by suzanne m
Look in any good book store, they should have books that can help you. But it helps if you are Psychic.

Answer by elmjunburke
You can read them any way you care to. Tarot, like so many stupid beliefs are for super-superstitious people. Who cares which card comes up. It’s all just chance. You can read cards and get one story, do it again and they’ll come up in a difference sequence. It’s all baloney.

Answer by Gray Wanderer
Most tarot cards come with a booklet that tels you wahteach card stands for and will tell you how to do a spread, most likely the celtic cross spread.

But there are a lot of books you can buy or check out from the library.

There is a WONDERFUL book called “Tarot For Dummies”. It will explain everything to you in simple, easy to understand language and exercises. You don’t say which Tarot Card Deck you have, but the book that I mentioned uses the Rider-Waite Tarot Deck. While all decks are illustrated differently, the meanings are the same. It just help when learning the Tarot, that you use the same deck as the book which you are studying, so the cards all look the same as in the booked illustrations.

There are books in any bookstore that will teach you how. But mostly it is what you feel when you look at them. That should tell you what to do.

Answer by Stuie

Answer by Marjo J

http://www.learntarot.com/ offers an online course… Aliester Crowley has the best book on the tarot called the Book of Thoth… although it is written specifically for the thoth deck the explaination of the symbology of the tarot is the most comprehensive that i have found. It is important to understand the symbology of the each card as well as it’s numerology before you can fully comprehend the readings. most tarot decks come with a little booklet that shows the typical “celtic cross” layout and a brief description of each card, your best bet is to learn the symbolism of each card by first thing each day drawing a new card from the deck, meditate on the meaning on the visual image its self. then keep a journal about the events of that day and how it relates to the card that you drew (sure it will take you 72 days to learn the cards, but you be able to relate each card with its symbology and attach a personal memory to it, therby increasing retention and having a better grasp of the cards meaning in a reading) Once you learn the cards then you can go about studing different layouts… there are a bunch of em… good luck to you! i hope you find what you seek!

Download Solitaire 1-2-3 and immerse yourself in the glory of oblivious (yet pointless) gaming. It’s like masturbation, but you don’t need genitals to do it.

Answer by Geezah
First, get a general idea of what each of the cards mean. They’re basically a collection of 78 different mythological archetypes, which in turn reflect various “universal” themes we go though in life (birth, death, debate, defeat, creativity, wealth, etc.). There are plenty of on-line sources for this, but I think it’s best to just buy a couple of different books on the subject, since they have a lot more information anyway. Two books I’d highly suggest are the “Tarot Bible” by Anna Bartlett and The Little Black Book Of Tarot by Nannette Stone. You can find both on Amazon at a combined price that’s less than some Tarot decks themselves.

As for how to go about it, you can just start with very simple spreads. You could think of a question, then pull out a random card and philosophically interpret its meaning. Or you could lay down three cards for past-present-future, etc. Even the instruction book that comes with the cards should have some simple examples.

As far as special ways to store the cards, how to meditatively begin a reading, etc., there really are no “rules” for this. ALL these things really do is just add to the esoteric appeal. If you want to incorporate something like this, you’re free to do so, but nothing “bad” is going to happen if you don’t keep the cards wrapped in silk or whatever. Just keep them in a condition suitable for practical purposes: like any deck of cards they’ll need some breaking in, but don’t abuse them.

I’m pretty sure all you have to do is stick them up your ass, and you’ll get the same results as reading them.

Praise the good Lord Jesus Christ.

Tarot cards do not predict the future
They guide you through the possible future

Secondly, all tarot cards are different, so you need to know the exact make. Most decks come with a beginner’s users guide

You can use them whenever you want

You can store them wherever you want, although I suggest the bedroom. You spend most of your time there sleeping.

Add: A pretty easy and universal spread is the past, present, future. Clear the deck by knocking on it with your middle knuckle of your dominant hand. Shuffle, from the top of the pile from left to right, place 3 cards. The image of the card is also important. Look for symbolism. Dont just take the face meaning of the card. Look deeper into it.

Answer by Slighly Amused
They don’t show the “future”. They show what may occur.

I keep mine on some shelf somewhere.

I pray you never play with them. They are dangerous. You may think they are harmless. It is the devil’s lie. You are playing really with a forrest fire when you start to dabble in the Occult. Telling fortunes is forbidden by God.
You will open yourself up to demons. They will not just go away when you get scared and put the deck away. Those demons will never leave you unless you repent and come to the Lord Jesus. There is no other name by which to make a demon flee from you or anyone.
But only if you have repented for dabbling in the occult.
I am strongly warning you against this idea that tarot cards are harmless.

A forbidden practice is something that is an abomination to the Lord. This means Gods hates these things and does not want His children to have any thing to do with them. God tells us very clearly nine things that He hates. “When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. here shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God (Deuteronomy 18:9-13).
God wants us to stay away from these things, not because He wants to control us, or deprive us of anything, but because He loves us, and knows these things are very dangerous. He wants us to stay away from these things regardless of what form they are in. For example, these occult practices may be the theme of a game, or a movie, or a book. If any of these themes are in something, do yourself a favor and avoid it.

The tarot (first known as tarocchi, also tarock and similar names), pronounced /ˈtɑːroʊ/, is a pack of seventy-eight cards, used from the mid fifteenth century in various parts of Europe to play card games such as Italian Tarocchini and French Tarot. In English-speaking countries, where these games are largely unknown, Tarot cards are now used primarily for divinatory purposes ( Wikipedia)

Sleep with the Tarot Deck under your pillow nightly for 7 days. Study the cards and meanings until you get a good working knowledge of them. Decide which type of spread you feel comfortable with. There are many books on the subject and classes are available usually at New Age book stores. Ask your spirit guides to assist you before each reading and don’t forget to thank them afterward. Practice on friends and family until you begin to feel more comfortable.

Store you cards in silk. There are silk tarot bags that you can purchase. You may allow the person you are reading for to touch and shuffle the cards, but do not let other people DO READINGS with your cards. The connection is with you and spirit only with your cards.

Best Wishes

I think you have some pretty good answwers here. Be sure to not let anyone use your cards, wrap them in black cloth, silk is great. I like black velvet. i use a black table cloth or maroon, I have a white candle and I use a glas of water as a conductor to spirit. I keep mine in a dark blue and velvit box and I also keep my pendulums in there. I have never used the whole deck for a reading. use them when you feel a desire to look ahead.

The Meaning of Each Tarot Card : All About the Empress Tarot Card

Written by ClairvoyantConni

Since the age of 2 I have had encounters and a personal relationship with loved ones crossed. In my opinion there are no better friends you can have. They are honest, without the capacity to hold ego or materialistic views and always give you accurate information to help you through whatever you are going through. They have the ability to see the past, present and future without judgement. Their accuracy is uncanny.

Having the gift of sight, hearing, sensing, smelling and tasting as well as empathy and the gift of communicating with spirit, gives me the ability to accurately read you without judgement.

Spirit has entrusted me with these gifts to help you in all areas of your life. It has been an exciting journey. This gift is generational and my grandmother and father both had the gift as well as my children.

I have assisted over 15,598 people online in the last 9 years alone. I have thousands of other clients as well. This is what I dedicate my life to as I know it is my life calling.
