Cards are cards. Just an object. I know many people that play with tarot cards and other things. They are just a tool to focus, what they use is the ability everyone already has to some degree whic is the connectivity of peoples energy to themselves and higher powers. I think it is far more likely that someone is holding negative energy themselves and then feeding the fears (negative energy) from a spiritual prspective. I am one of those people who believe there are dark spirits as well as the rest but I also think that they for the most part are our creations as energetic creators. Given that I would say if they are really focusing on the deck with those thoughts in mind, allthough it is not the deck itself, throw it out. Symbolism has alot of power in the ways we use energy as focal points. On the off chance they have found a dark spirit though I am sure that there would be other things as well to accompany it. A general sense of unease if you will. Focus on love and light and if it is there it will not linger, cannot linger.

Good Luck!

Tarot cards are a picture book.
Choose what ever meaning you want to give them.
It’s just coincidence bad things are happening like in the Tower. Otherwise by what you say, you are demonizing the cards.

Answer by Jadis D
That tarot is possessed. You have to dispose of it on earth which has grass. Do not, I repeat, do not throw it in the trash, much less burn it.
Just throw it in the earth. The tarot wants its owner back.

Answer by vid
There’s nothing going on that has anything to do with the deck of Tarot cards. Tarot cards are not evil or anything like that. The reason why some might believe that is because many people have preconceived notions in their heads about things like that, but no, the deck of Tarot cards have nothing to do with whatever is going on in the house. Hope that helps!

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Tarot cards and being catholic?

I was just wondering about this subject a little bit. I know that practicing divination and using tarot cards are pretty much forbidden for catholics. What I wanted to know, is there anything wrong with just owning a tarot deck and not using it at all? I am asking this because I was interested in just seeing what a deck looks like and looking at it simply for the art that is on the cards. I myself am a catholic and as stated above, I know that things like using tarot cards and divination is dealing with the occult, but is simply owning a deck for looking at the art that is on the cards still considered a bad thing?

Answer by Pope Alexander VI
If the Sistine chapel can have tons of boobies all over it, you can have tarot cards.

Answer by Sylvia
I’m not religious, but I do know Tarot cards carry bad energy that can cause petty strife, anger, and evil energy. Even the people that have a set cause drama around them and or secret enemies.

The other occults seem to be safe like Astrology, healing gems, Numerology, and dream analysis, but something about Tarot cards I don’t trust.

I want a tarot deck. I like the artwork on some of them.

there are even christian themed decks you might like

Tarot cards arent evil and they have no powers. They are just used as tools to represent latent abilities in the person using them. Its pretty much the same as saying a pen cant write on its own, youre doing the writing.

Also catholicism and christianity are influenced by paganism and the occult so no worries there really. The links arent propaganda sites i promise.

Knowledge is Power is it not?
and if Knowledge is Power then with great Power comes great Responsibility no?

So what harm is there in owning an object or holding the knowledge of how to use it as long as your responsible about it right?

your faith says it’s a no-no to practice that pagan art yet it celebrates pagan holidays like Christmas, Easter, & Lent and they are clearly Pagan…

Ask your priest this one about Christmas.. Jeremiah 10 King James Version
1Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
2Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
3For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
5They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Are Tarot Cards Sinful? Is reading them a Sin?

This question is directed primarily at Christians.

Would you consider reading tarot cards a sin? Why and why not?

Now, I know some people are going to answer that it is a sin because the Bible forbids sorcery and divination. So, instead of answering in that direction, what if they’re used simply as a guide to learning more about yourself?

What if they’re simply used as a tool to search the unconscious mind or bring out things you may have never thought of before? Is reading them still a sin in that case, as it becomes less divination and more self-reflection?

Answer by arily666
tarot cards aren’t sinful people are…

Answer by Jane
Absolutely not. Each religion, no matter what they say, has taken part of one form or another of future-reading.

Answer by mrpaulg67
Tarot cards are a tool, as you had mentioned.

They are NOT a sin.

Anybody who claims that they are, are believing and expressing that out of F E A R.

FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN.

Answer by oldguy63
You can bring untold problems into your life through any dabbling into the occult. I strongly suggest that you have nothing to do with that area oflife.

Answer by crazy_ivan1986
I don’t understand how cards arranged in a certain order can reveal anything about your subconscious.
The reason they are considered a Sin, is because they allow demonic forces to get a hold upon our lives. You may use them once for “self-reflection” but you will eventually get to the point where you will rely upon them for every decision you make most likely. That is where Satan can take a hold, and use you for evil.

Answer by Hank W
Anything that you believe in is your own truth, therefore don’t let anyone tell you what is right or wrong, only you can make that determination. (My opinion is that right and wrong don’t exist in the first place, so neither does your question)

Answer by Christo Minaverus
I’m a pagan, however I do wish to tell you something about tarot. tarot is not ment to be anything more than insight into your life. Its not ment to make decisions for you, unveil the truth, or show you how to win the lottery. mainly its to allow you to see things you may have missed, Insight into a problem to help you come up with a solution, Advice on how something may go. In general tarot is ment to guide and help people, however never to be taken extremley seriously. I am a practicioner myself and I do value the insight they give me, yet don’t consider them the unchangable foreboding future that I have no influence on. Think of them as the road map of your life. They can show you which roads you could take but ultimately you still decide where to go.

As for wether they are sinful or not I can’t say for you as religiously we walk different paths. i wish you luck in whatever you do. God bless.

Answer by Bullfrog21
Do you think it is sin? If you do it is. However Tarot reading is divination. Sin or not sin that is between you and your God or gods.

Answer by SillyMe
I don’t believe reading cards is a sin, if you truly believe it was a gift God gave to you to help find your path, and to help others find their paths.

Answer by javadic
Tarot cards were apparently developed as a story-telling device to record the secret story of the marriage of Jesus to Mary Magdalene. When did they become sources of divination? Somewhere around the time it became illegal punishable upon death to speak of Christ being married go Mary Magdalene, because He was married to the church and therefore could not have an earthly wife. When I did a reading at age 19 when I was interested in learning about the occult, it was 100% right on (but they are also apperceptive). When I tried to burn them at age 20, they wouldn’t burn. It was very freaky. I ended up burying them. T. S. Elliot makes reference to them in “The Wasteland” (which was why I got a deck and did a reading). I haven’t used them since, and won’t use them again. They have an uncomfortable spiritual sense about them.

Answer by b3nx
It is a sin. I shows that we don’t have faith in God. God values our faithfulness the most. If you have any questions about your life, don’t ask cards. Ask Jesus Christ to guide and give direction in your life.

Answer by Tami Lomuti
It depends on how you define sin. Are you sticking to the 10 commandments? Then it does not fit in any catagory. But if you look at Genesis, Adam and Eve ate forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge, thereby giving them enlightenment and free will. That is the original sin. If you are a new testament kind of person, here is a surprise. Jesus studied at the temple with the High Priests. He was taught Cabalistic Magic (how he later performed miracles). The major arcana of the Tarot is based on the tree of life (see apple tree in Genesis as well); the cornerstone of the Cabala. So in that sense, Jesus studied Tarot and praticed Magic. The celebrations of his birth, death and resurrection coincide with and imitate pagan rituals. The Bible which we read today was rewritten by Constantine on his deathbed. Want an interesting read? Google him. Then define sin for yourself. I personally define sin as doing harm to myself or others. The rest is just another person’s attempt to control me. I read a quote once that helped clear it up for me: “Religion is for people who are afraid of going to hell. Spirituality is for people who have been there.”

Answer by Mary Ellen
I do not believe that Tarot cards are sinful. They are so helpful in self reflection. Most people refuse to learn and are afraid to accept new knowledge from this ancient and sacred source, that could very well help them.

Answer by Diane S
I suppose that depends on your definition of sin. *I* don’t believe they are sinful, but rather a means of meditation and self-reflection as you said. The cards present choices and may show insight into possible solutions to current problems or issues.
It sounds as though you already believe this deep down and just want to make sure you’re not doing anything wrong. You’re not, in my opinion it’s perfectly ok to consult the cards for the purpose you stated.

Answer by alikij
God forbids the use of sorcery and divination because they are dangerous. Things like that are associated with pagan religions, and they usually worship pagan gods. If we aren’t on God’s side, we’re on Satan’s side. You can sit on the fence if you want to, but the fence belongs to Satan. Satan is a liar. He wants to mislead everybody, and he’ll try any trick. Even if you’re using tarot cards simply to discover things about yourself, Satan is behind it. Try journaling instead.

Answer by Angel
Depends on what your beliefs are, if you believe in god & the bible then you should not use them. In my own personal experience i would say stay away from them all together even if you have no belief.

1/23 & 1/24 – Oracle & Tarot Card Reading

Written by ClairvoyantConni

Since the age of 2 I have had encounters and a personal relationship with loved ones crossed. In my opinion there are no better friends you can have. They are honest, without the capacity to hold ego or materialistic views and always give you accurate information to help you through whatever you are going through. They have the ability to see the past, present and future without judgement. Their accuracy is uncanny.

Having the gift of sight, hearing, sensing, smelling and tasting as well as empathy and the gift of communicating with spirit, gives me the ability to accurately read you without judgement.

Spirit has entrusted me with these gifts to help you in all areas of your life. It has been an exciting journey. This gift is generational and my grandmother and father both had the gift as well as my children.

I have assisted over 15,598 people online in the last 9 years alone. I have thousands of other clients as well. This is what I dedicate my life to as I know it is my life calling.
