Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Is there an easy way to do tarot cards?

Is there an easy way to do tarots and remember the meanings and the sequences. I have dabbled a little. Is there an internet site to help or someone that has a pattern or a rhyme how they remember. I would be grateful of any help. Thankyou

Answer by Pam R
Hello Kaye

I have studied the tarot for over 20 years & Im still picking new things up from them.

I now teach – so you join my yahoo group if you wish to practice etc.

I know of no patterns, rhymes etc. What you can do is start a little book of your own. When you study books on the tarot plus study the tarot themselves – write down what the card feels like to you, what it says to you.

As you develop with the tarot you will build a relationship with them, & this can take time. There is no quick way to learn them.

Sit & be still with a card at a time – really get a feel for each card.

Stick to upright until you fully understand them before venturing into the reversed.

Good luck – they are a wonderful tool for personal & psychic development.

I’ve been trying for a while to find ways to remember certain things so I don’t have to always look up the meanings of a card.

So far, I’ve found that the swords suit is an unhappy one for the most part. And the chalices suit is a sort-of happy one.

Answer by shesmypunk
yeah dont do them. they are not of god.

Answer by Spyderbear
When I was just starting, I would memorize one card. Then memorize another, and always state both cards when you’re remembering. Add a third, always remembering the others at the same time. Even today, years later, I might go through the deck on my way to work in the morning, just to keep them in mind. The more you work with the tarot, the more cards you will remember. Many long time practitioners still refer back to their books ocassionally.

Answer by Nepetarias
I have written small hints on the backs of my cards to remind me what they are for. This has helped me to remember what I have learned.
Until you are practised, don’t feel ashamed of using notes, books, etc.
Be sure to cleanse your Tarot before each reading. This is done through visualization, incense, and blowing on them.

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : How to learn tarot, preferably online?

Question tells it all. Any website where I could find good and reliable information, any personal experience?
Also, is there any website I could buy some good looking tarot cards?

Answer by Fiery Phoenix
The key to understanding the Tarot, is understanding the symbolism and the history of the Tarot and what it is meant to portray as a whole. Learning the meanings of the cards by themselves is fine, but the Tarot ultimately tells a story with a bigger picture. Here is a link that may help you if you wish to understand the Tarot in its entirety, rather than simply purchasing a deck and trying to muddle your way through the symbolism:

http://www.sacred-texts.com/tarot/index.htm

As for where you can buy a deck… well, there are plenty of resources out there for that. Here’s a link to a site that gives very detailed reviews for hundreds of decks:

http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/

Answer by Safÿre
As previously mentioned, www.aeclectictarot.net is a BRILLIANT website that has simply hundreds of different tarot decks available for sale. It also has illustrations of what the decks look like, and reviews by people that know the deck. So it is a wealth of information when it comes to choosing the deck that is right for you.

As for learning the tarot online… try www.learntarot.com
And I would also suggest you go to amazon.com and purchase a copy of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to the Tarot (that’s what it is called). It’s a great “basic” book. It is illustrated with the Rider Waite deck, but the instructions are clear enough that you can understand the meaning for any deck.

When it comes to buying your first deck… I personally recommend you choose a deck that you have an affinity for. I know a lot of people recommend the Rider Waite deck for beginners. My personal preference however, is for the Morgan Greer deck as a beginner’s deck. That’s based on the artwork, which I think is more vibrant and descriptive than the four-colour process of the Rider Waite deck. But as I was saying… pick a deck that you have an affinity for. Let’s say (for example) you have a thing for dragons, or dolphins, or cats. There are tarot decks using these themes (plus many, many, many others). And because you are already drawn to this particular genre, I think you will find that it is easier for you to quickly get a feel for the cards. I find students pick up tarot reading quicker with a deck that feels more “natural” to them; rather than trying to memorise 78 cards by rote. Just a suggestion.

Good luck

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Are tarot cards safer to use than the ouija board?

I’ve heard several people saying that after they tried the oiuija board various bad incidents started to occur in their life, so I would not want to test my luck with it. However, I was wondering if tarot cards are the safer alternative or if they can also attract “negative” spirits? What things can be done before/after/during a reading to ensure that no negativity is involved and that only positive guidance is summoned up?

Answer by amber
just imagine a white protective light around all who are involved and call in higher level spirits………. they are fine… tarot cards..not the boards…don’t mess with them!

blessed be

Answer by M4CHINIST
There is no safe or unsafe choice. You alone can decide whether the experience is safe or not. There is alot of speculation around both Ouija and Tarot. The best advice anyone can truly give is to monitor your reasons for venturing into the unknown. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. You cannot know the outcome until you try the experiment.

Answer by robyn
Tarot cards can conjure up evil spirits. You should not mess with these things as they are evil. I have played with both. Please stay away from them.

Answer by Mandi
Since you’re asking and are probably not a skeptic, I was watching Sylvia Brown, a psychic, on the Montel show last week and she said that Ouija boards we’re like a portal for the demented spirits, or something of that nature. So, any kind of messages you get with the boards usually aren’t true but are pretty spooky. I haven’t heard anything on tarot cards but, even if they do attract “negative spirits,” just put them away and be done with it– I’m pretty sure they have to leave once the item is done being used.

Ouija Boards are nothing more than what you THINK they are. If people had “bad luck”, or “bad things” happen to them, it’s totally because they thought they would. Try the Virtual Tarot Cards online. There are some free sites.

Answer by Miss Murder
NEVER EVER EVER USE OUIJA BOARDS! Just try out Tarot cards if you must… but if you really want answers… figure them out yourself. The answers are there… you just have to look for them.

Ouija boards have caused bad incidents for tons of people; they drive (believe it or not) bad spirits to people and cause bad things to happen. NEVER use them… I’m not sure about Tarot cards… but I’d stay away from them if I were you… they’re smetimes considered unholy.

Answer by Anne H
As someone who has used tarot for over 20 years, I would say that I have experienced no ill effects from them. Tarot is not a form of spiritism the same way that ouija is.

And saying a prayer for guidance can’t hurt before doing a reading. Just remember that even if you don’t like what is in the reading, that does NOT make it negative. Would you consider a red light negative?

I’m sure that there are those out there with religious objection to any form of Oracle, but oracles are a long standing part of honoring the Divine and even make an appearance in the Bible….

I’m pretty sure everyone has at least a few bad things happen to them throughout the course of their life. I doubt using a Ouija board had anything to do with it. I used to play with one regularly – the only bad thing it did to me was to give me a false (but temporary) hope that I’d one day marry a man named Rql Tdt.

Honestly I would not do either. This is a true story okay, my best friend died a year and a half ago, she drowned. And her mother told me that it was so weird because her sister and her were doing tarot cards and she kept getting the death card and she kept doing it over and over and kept getting it, this was about a month before she died. Then when she got home, she was so scared she had her mom read her palm, because she used to be into stuff like that, and she said that her life line was very short and choppy at the end, indicating an early death. And she did die at 16. That reallllly freaked me out. And not that I would have done any of those things before but DEFINITELY would not do it now

I have worked with ouija boards and tarot cards lots over the years and neither one has caused an injury. I suppose a card could give you a paper cut, but a board could be easily slipped on if left on the floor. Yeah, I’d avoid the ouija board.

Seriously, if enter any psychic session with a negative attitude, any negative preceding events will appear to be caused by the session. If you have bad feelings about ouija boards, don’t use them. In themselves, they are no more or less dangerous than any other psychic tool. It’s all in how you approach it.

Answer by Joa5
Ouija boards and Tarot cards two different animals. They don’t serve the same purpose.

Ouija boards are meant to communicate with the spirit world, while Tarot cards give you insight to your subconscious. So, there aren’t spirits involved when it comes to Tarot cards.

Answer by janus
I wouldnt use them at all or the Ouija Board. Years ago I read a Book about how to tell Fortunes by Ordinary Playing Cards and so I Experimented by telling my Fathers Fortune and the Ace of Spades came up the Death Card . I got a shock mumbled something made an excuse and put the cards away my Father said nothing , But my Mother Queried me and so I owned up to Her she just nodded at me and said nothing. A few Monthes later my dad started getting Fits and going Unconcious, He died a Week later in Hospital it was from lack of Oxygen going to the Brain Due to Bronchitis Emphysemia. I prefer not to know what the Future is now , I wouldnt go near Cards or anything else now no way.

Answer by monk_e_chic
I would definately say no, if you do some research you will find out that astrology, the use of TAROT CARDS, crystal gazing, palmistry, and the search for mysterious omens, or signs, in dreams, all fall under divination. Divination is an attempt to find out about the future or about something unknown. Many people think that practicing divination is harmless, the Bible shows that fortune-tellers and wicked spirits work together. A bible example of this is found in Acts 16:16-18 which mentions “a demon of divination” that enabled a girl to practice “the art of prediction.” But she lost this ability when the demon was cast out of her. i just thought you might like to know that and find it interesting. I hope this helps. oh and i believe tarot cards are also associated with the occult which is something i would definitely stay away from.

Answer by talloncusack
Yep, I think so. Ouija boards are supposed to be communicating with spirits, and Tarot isn’t.

Answer by kikazzunicorn
personally i like the ouija board better, nothing bad has ever happened to me after using it

Answer by tiquillabitch

About Me:

I’ve always ‘seen’ things that people would say are psychic and paranormal – and as a child, I had predictive dreams of ‘things to come’. Being that age, I was growing and playing but being a kid, I never really questioned this too much. Not until I got to about fourteen, when for some reason, I became very aware of it all and began to question. It was then that I suddenly started to realize that not everyone was having these dreams. Or that no-one else had their own ‘Cosmic Teachers’ who would come along, dressed in white and teach me.

I am not as anyone here, you can try by yourself, I am an expert in a different way, holding in my hand the secret of your life, I am from Land of the Pharaohs, I am Egyptian, we going to see together what is going on with you in your life, let’s start our journey into your deep inner and search into your Past, Present, and your near Future, only, for your own highest good. I used many tarot cards, I know lots of spreads, I hold lots of secrets, I can contact with your inner angels, to bring you your best thing for yourself and for your life.

Since being here on Oranum I have already been able to give guidance and spread the healing seeds of positivism, which I am a great believer of. Happiness is achievable for all of us if we learn how to ask for it.
