You can shuffle tarot cards same as playing cards as long as you are comfortable and do not falter while doing your meditations/prayers.

Watch out though, I have found that the larger cards are a little more susceptible to creasing and bending… worn cards might have character but overly worn may not shuffle well creating a bogus reading

for more on tarot reading I wrote a blog that is very helpful

I shuffle my Tarot cards just as you would with normal playing cards. That is, I hold them horizontally and on the side in one hand, and use the other hand to shuffle the cards from side to side (I hope that makes sense!). At first, this took a bit of practice – many Tarot decks use cards that are slightly bigger than playing cards. The more you handle the cards, the more comfortable you will be with shuffling.

Alternatively, you can put all the cards face-down on a table and shuffle them all together in a big messy pile, then pick up the cards again.

There are several ways. The “riffle shuffle” is the method used by professional card players (I can’t do it very well and it can damage the cards if you are not too good at it). Then there is the “overhand method” that I use, or just spreading them out on the table and moving them around before you reassemble them. The latter method is also best if they are too large to shuffle by hand. You can also shuffle them longways instead of sideways if size is a problem. Use whatever method you are comfortable with. Then you should cut the deck. This website has some good tips:

Tarot cards tend to be bigger and longer so you can’t really shuffle them the way most people shuffle cards ie the bridge shuffle. Just hold them in one hand use the other hand to shuffle them in your palm pulling cardls gently from the middle and bsck and bringing them to the front. Try not to think to much about it you are supposed to be focusing on the question.

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : What can you tell me about the King of Swords Tarot card?

I read interpretations on the internet, but sometimes other people’s insights have something more valuable to offer whether that be from personal experience with a King-of-Swords type guy, or because of different interpretations THEY’VE learned.

So how about it?

Answer by Bad Monkey
The first thing I think of when I see the King of Swords is a sharp tongue, someone who is rather biting in criticism. I can also see him as an individual who is intelligent and often very much in his head. If you want to associate this card with a zodiac sign, consider it as you would an Air sign man, someone who’s more intellectual than emotional. I often pull this as a “person” card for a Libra.

Answer by Babe428
you are a born leader, your good at problem solving, inteligent, and charismatic

Answer by ♥ Diamond Doll ♥
King of Swords – Intellectual, logical, driven, calculating, sharp wit. Not a guy who’s given to letting his emotions rule him. Definitely a head over heart type of guy. Often associated with air signs (Libra, Aquarius, Gemini). Also often associated with people who are olive-skinned with light eyes and dark hair.

I used to date a King of Swords type. He was a physicist and he was intensely logical, ambitious, and in day to day life he put very little value in emotions and feelings. He was only ever emotional in his private life. Coincidentally he also had brown hair and light green eyes. He was a Cancer, but he had a Libra rising and he came up as a King or Knight of Swords in all of my readings.

To me, I feel like that this is the type of male that depends primarily on his rationalizing, analytical abilities. Decisions are not based so much on feelings and emotions, but rather on fairness and logical deductions. This is the type of man who could be working in some branch of military or governmental intelligence unit or simply someone who holds much authority and commands respects in an organization. Wise and just by nature, he is often seen as the arbitrator in an argument or dispute and has the ability to maintain peace at any cost to the parties involved.

However, on the flip side, too much logic and rationalization often leads to suppressed feelings and the possibility of making cold, calculated decisions. This type of male might seem cruel and perverse at times to the more feeling type of individual. I see this as a blend of both Fire (King) and Air (Swords) and the driving force is to maintain a sense of harmony and control about any given situation.

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : I want to buy a deck of tarot cards but when I went to the store there was so many, which do I chose?

I went to Barnes & Nobles the other day and in the spiritual section they had box cases of tarot card decks. There was many different varieties from the “A dummy’s guide to Tarot Cards” which included a deck of cards and a mat to other more generic ones. How can I decide which one will be the best buy? Will any be different from others?

Answer by Who aren’t you?
The art will be different. They all should be the same number and variety of cards. Though even Barnes & Nobles doesn’t have that great of a selection.

I’d suggest you look at them and find one that comes with some literature on it too, unless you want just to have a deck of cards and no more.

It doesn’t matter, they don’t really do anything. But if you have your heart set on a deck, the the Rider Waite deck.

Answer by Dr. Todd
What exactly are you wanting to do? Have you considered praying? I have generally found that more productive and therapeutic than trying the mystical methods such as tarot cards

Answer by Miz T
The Rider-Waite deck is the most popular deck in use today. You should be able to find books on how to read the Rider-Waite deck with no problem. You can find information keyed to it on line as well ( , for example).

If you’re going to buy a deck with a different set of designs, be sure you can get a book on how to read the specific cards you do buy. Eventually, when you can read most layouts most of the time without referring to the book, you may want to try a different design or even design your own. While you’re learning, however, it’s critical to be able to discern what the cards are telling you, and you’ll need instructions that are keyed to your cards for that.

There are two ways going about this. If you want to use the cards for meditation/intutive perspectives, you could browse over the card illustrations and pick a deck which “pulls” you most.

If you want to learn tarot, I would suggest you pick the Rider-Waite or a variation of the Rider Waite for a simple reason that it is the most popular deck and most other decks build/variate on its concepts and the the RW is a good first foundation deck . Another reason is that you will find a lot of free reading material on the RW deck on the web. Most discussions and online reading sites also use RW which helps you learn and connect more.

Good luck,
Tarot Faith

at Aeclectic Tarot there are reviews and some images of many different decks. They also have them listed by themes and characteristics – which should help you figure out what kind of deck would work best for you.

Even within the Rider-Smith-Waite decks there are many to choose from, as far as color and size. And if the images don’t appeal to you, you can get decks that are similar in context but use different themes. Check out before you buy anything.

Tarot Reading for March 13, 2013 – Psychic, Intuitive & Clairvoyant Insight

Written by Ashnadel

About Me:
I’ve always ‘seen’ things that people would say are psychic and paranormal – and as a child, I had predictive dreams of ‘things to come’. Being that age, I was growing and playing but being a kid, I never really questioned this too much. Not until I got to about fourteen, when for some reason, I became very aware of it all and began to question. It was then that I suddenly started to realize that not everyone was having these dreams. Or that no-one else had their own ‘Cosmic Teachers’ who would come along, dressed in white and teach me.

I am not as anyone here, you can try by yourself, I am an expert in a different way, holding in my hand the secret of your life, I am from Land of the Pharaohs, I am Egyptian, we going to see together what is going on with you in your life, let’s start our journey into your deep inner and search into your Past, Present, and your near Future, only, for your own highest good. I used many tarot cards, I know lots of spreads, I hold lots of secrets, I can contact with your inner angels, to bring you your best thing for yourself and for your life.

Since being here on Oranum I have already been able to give guidance and spread the healing seeds of positivism, which I am a great believer of. Happiness is achievable for all of us if we learn how to ask for it.

You are at the right pace if you need to talk to someone about your worries and dilemmas, if you are you having self-esteem issues, and feel low on energy.
