tarot card

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Can christians “play” with tarot cards?

I’m catholic and I want to purchase tarot cards for fun. It’s not a serious think just to impress people and really just for fun.

Is it okay?

Answer by hi
No It’s not okay everything is in God’s hands not some stupid cards

Answer by Caboose
It’s as dangerous as reading your horoscope in the paper.

Answer by Matthew
It would be good to stay away from them, but everyone is a sinner which is why we have Jesus.

Catholicism isn’t Christian. They worship the pope when they should be worshiping Jesus, man made rules, teach works for salvation, added books to the Bible, worship statues and loads of other idolatry. It can’t save. Only Jesus can. Please pray a sincere prayer with all of your heart admitting to Jesus you are a sinner. Have full faith that His blood pays off all of your sins and accept His gift of everlasting life. I pray that God blesses you with peace. Amen.

Answer by immortalis_cruor
Of course! I’m sure no God would mind you having fun with your friends.

Answer by stallliont
I don’t see any harm in it, just don’t try to divine any information from it…

And whatever you do, never use a Oujia board…

Go ahead, I mean after all divination is a power from heaven… Sure angels weren’t supposed to give it to humans, but you can’t change the past can you?

Answer by brian
go ahead. any god who’d condemn you to hell for playing something that is the equivalent of UNO isn’t worth worshiping.

Answer by Sakaeguchi
Sure, why not? If you aren’t hurting anyone and you are having fun it should be fine.

Answer by storge70
No, its part of divination and you know what, I have kids and have been to many places that sell card games and other games and there is so much variety and so many to chose from. Get something else, there are better and fun ones you can get, dont involve yourself in the occult.

Answer by Christina
Yeah you can. The Catholic religion thinks psychics are evil witches that got their power from satan. I got my power from god. It might not work though.

Tarot Card, Crystals, Fortune telling are all forms of Witchcraft. You are depending on other things, when you are supposed to be solely depending on God for your guidance. In a way, these things become idols, gods if you will.

Exodus 20:5
You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

Exodus 34:14
Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.

The bible speaks about the sin of Witchcraft also:

Deuteronomy 18:10
Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in [a] the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft,

2 Chronicles 33:6
He sacrificed his sons in [a] the fire in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, practiced sorcery, divination and witchcraft, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the LORD, provoking him to anger.

1 Samuel 15:23
For rebellion is like the sin of divination,
and arrogance like the evil of idolatry.
Because you have rejected the word of the LORD,
he has rejected you as king.”

The Bible clearly states that tarot cards, ouija boards, any type of Divination or item used to tell fortune is considered sinful. We are supposed to trust in the Lord with all our might, and lean not on our own understanding (Prov 3:5)

Ok, Tarot cards weren’t around then? Ok, what exactly are you doing when you utilize those cards? What are you searching for? My Dear, i believe you already know the answer. May God continue to bless you and strengthen your mind.

Follow God and God alone. Not man, Not tradition.

Answer by Kuve
The Tarot Deck was originally just a specialty deck of playing cards used for a number of games popular in Eastern Europe that required an extra trump suit. They were first used as a supposed “divination” tool in the late 19th century in traveling fairs by the carnival fortune tellers because they looked exotic and most Westerners had never seen them. I’d suspect that whether it’s allowed would depend on what kind of game you want to play. Tarot Whist, for example, is no different from Spades except that the Major Arcana is the trump suit.

Answer by shmulfer
No, they aren’t alowed to play with their pee pees either, it’s a sin.

Answer by Occultist
its fine. there is nothing wrong with the occult unless you fear knowledge or truth

Answer by Jack Shephard
You wanna know how many people I’ve seen cussing, drinking and smoking weed simultaneously have told me they’re Christian?

I think you’re safe buying tarot cards. Point being, everything is relative.

thanks.[10 points to best answer!]
there are 52 cards =], but they are a little bent…

thats the picture of them.

Answer by poison_viper02
maybe they are just really old fashioned playing cards, or cards from a different game that’s not around anymore.

If they’ve got the king of clubs then they are probably a deck of normal cards and if theres lots of them then they could be other cards mixed in.

Answer by hateisnotgood7
got me good luck not with you

Answer by Terry
Please give a deck count. It could be a transition deck from the 19th or early twentieth century.

Edit:From your count and the pictures I would say they are Transitional. Much of the card reading in the 19th century was done with standard playing cards. There also was a lot of Religious pressure to have anyone using tarot decks arrested as frauds, charlatans, and extortionists–minions of Satan.
I know some Transitional decks were sold at the 1904
Worlds fair in St.Louis Missouri. The tarot decks we use today mostly come from the 30s to the present.

They are not tarot cards, they are playing cards, probably spanish etc

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Tarot Cards What Does This Mean?

I have been practicing with a gilded deck of tarot cards, so I decided to do a Daily Spread and while I shuffle the cards three of them jump out of the deck and land side ways. These cards are the Knight of Swords, Nine of Pentacles, and Death. They went in that order. What does this mean? Or do those have meaning when they are together?

You probably shouldn’t leave the house for a while…
