Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Are ‘reversed’ meanings necessary when giving a tarot reading?

I recently purhcased ‘Easy Tarot’, which includes a deck of Tarot cards and a book that explains how to use them. I didn’t feel that the original Rider Waite deck fit me, so I decided upon this one. However, the book doesn’t include reversed meanings, as the author didn’t use them herself. Would it be wrong to ignore the reversed meanings, or should I look them up online and write them in the margins of the book?

Some readers use reversed meanings: others don’t. I personally do because I find the interpretation is more personalized to the questioner rather than using a generic meaning. I don’t use the Rider Waite either even though it is the most used and one of the oldest decks out there. There are lots of different decks and the one that I use seemed to “just call out to me” if that makes any sense?

Here is a good book that explains reversals: “The Complete Book Of Tarot Reversals” (by Mary K. Greer).

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Can someone point me in the right direction with tarot card reading…?

I just recently purchased a deck of tarot cards for myself, before I even did my first reading I looked at each card individually and really took time to see it. I then did the celtic cross layout. Everything seemed spot on but I was just wondering what website there are to explain each card a little more in depth then the little paper book that came with it. Other layouts and any other information would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest several websites. Google ” Tarot Card Meanings” When I was learning, I had private lessons but I also bought several books and found that I got something a little different from each of the books. Meanings can vary.

Whatever meanings you decide on, spirit will work with what the card means to you, so you don’t have to be concerned that there is any right meaning for a card.

Remember that each card has multiple meanings and it is the psychic message that counts. If you aren’t getting that, your accuracy rate will be about 20%. To develop your psychic ability, meditate daily.

NO, Borat. You can’t pull that woman over because you want to have sex with her.

A lot of people would (and will) say they are just for entertainment purposes.

I have had VERY REAL experiences with my decks…they have offered a LOT of SPECIFIC insight into my current situation. It was not a matter of “bending” the cards meanings to suit my situation either.

I could do a reading for you if you have a specific question, and you could make that judgement for yourself. 🙂 (just send me an email with the question)

Answer by thorndrose
Depends on you and the reader. If you want to be entertained, you will be, you can “ooh” and “ahh” and have a ton of fun. You can also walk away with real insight and information. The reason a lot of readers say, “for entertainment purposes only” is to remain within the law.

That really depends on the reader and the context of the reading.

Some people just do it for fun and entertainment… to spook themselves or amuse themselves etc. No big deal.

Some people do it to cheat people out of their money, feeding on the fears and anxieties of believers by giving them readings of what they want to hear or what they fear most and then promising to help them if they pay more money.

Some people do readings because they genuinely learn things from the cards and are able to look at a situation in a new light when they interpret the cards.

Some people use the cards to tap into their “psychic” senses.

Personally, I do it for the third reason. I genuinely learn things from the cards when I read with them. It’s not so mysterious, really… they are brainstorming tools… they provide random ideas and my mind, both my logical brain and my intuitive brain, sorts through those ideas to find things that make sense in the context of he situation, which often provides insights that I couldn’t have gotten without the cards. It forces me to think through possibilities I wouldn’t have thought to consider before turning the cards.

The cards are not magickal, they are not possessed by spirits, they have no innate powers of their own. They are tools, mere cards with pictures on them, but they can have a powerful effect on the viewer… a picture can say more than a thousand words, as the saying goes…

I also find them beautiful and there is an element of entertainment withing them… just as a motion picture can be entertaining while also being profound, thought-provoking and moving. It’s not JUST entertainment. It’s whatever you make of the message you receive.

Have you ever asked yourself why you find things like this so fascinating? The reason, I suspect, is because down inside you feel uncertain and nervous about the future and think these things might help you feel more confident.

But this is precisely why I urge you to put your trust in God alone for the future. As I have often said, predictions like these about the future are almost never on target (or else they are too vague to really mean anything). Why build your life around them or get your guidance from them? They are only a substitute for the guidance you really need—which is from God.

My other concern, however, is one that I hope you will take very seriously. These things may seem innocent and amusing at first—but it’s easy to get more and more fascinated with them, and eventually become involved in occult practices that are not from God.

Don’t be misled: Occult practices are not from God, but from spiritual forces opposed to God. Instead, put your faith and trust in Christ. When we know Him, we know we are safely in His hands no matter what the future holds. The Bible is right: “When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists … should not a people inquire of their God?” (Isaiah 8:19).

Since the age of 2 I have had encounters and a personal relationship with loved ones crossed. In my opinion there are no better friends you can have. They are honest, without the capacity to hold ego or materialistic views and always give you accurate information to help you through whatever you are going through. They have the ability to see the past, present and future without judgement. Their accuracy is uncanny.

Having the gift of sight, hearing, sensing, smelling and tasting as well as empathy and the gift of communicating with spirit, gives me the ability to accurately read you without judgement.

Spirit has entrusted me with these gifts to help you in all areas of your life. It has been an exciting journey. This gift is generational and my grandmother and father both had the gift as well as my children.

I have assisted over 15,598 people online in the last 9 years alone. I have thousands of other clients as well. This is what I dedicate my life to as I know it is my life calling.
